Bristol Docks Fishing, Thursday 12/7/12

Rain, rain and more rain and the bream loved it, thursdays match it rained all night and never stopped until after the weigh in. The flooded Bristol Avon and Frome had coloured up the whole docks system and with a gentle tow and no wind conditions were perfect, and the fish responded.

Top weight on the night was Dave Clutterbuck, with the best weight of the year, 25lb 6oz which was bream and skimmers on a 10m pole using groundbait and maggot, from peg 14. Second was his great mate Pete Sivell with 18lb 6oz on a groundbait feeder, from peg 12.
Pete's brother Merv was third with 17lb 8oz on the pole and groundbait, whilst former Angling Times employee Rupert Garner caught 16lb 13oz.
Fifth place went to Jason Bird with 15lb 9oz of skimmers on a feeder, whilst Dean Malin finished 6th with 15lb 8oz.
This has to be the best set of weights for years on the 'Docks' and it is all free fishing.
